HOLLAND FESTIVAL
Saturday 5 May 2012 – from 12noon
The Quarry Arts Centre, 21 Selwyn Avenue, Whangarei

Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day) is a national holiday in the Netherlands. It is one of the most extraordinary and colourful events in the world: literally a whole country turns orange and parties!
But you don’t have to travel all the way to Holland: We hereby invite you to come and experience an orange street party at the Holland Festival in
the Quarry Arts Centre in Whangarei.

Come and see the Kid’s Market: a market run by under 14's: see what they have for sale, play one of their games, or see them busk. Enroll into the traditional games competition, and yes, this year it is not only for kids: adults can try their hand too and find out who will be the best at ‘spijkerpoepen’, ‘koekhappen’ or ‘sjoelen’, to name but a few. There will be live music, performance, story telling and Dutch food stalls with delicatessen like ‘ oliebollen’, ‘poffertjes’, ‘haring’, ‘broodje kroket’, ‘ dropjes’ and cheese to temp you!

In the evening have a knees up at the Orange Party in the wonderful setting of the Quarry meadow and see who dares to try some Dutch karaoke! Full bar available.

Entry is free when you wear something orange, otherwise you can buy something orange at the door for only $2.
